Udaipur is one of the cities that remained untouched by the Mughals, during the Mughal reign in India. As the city is a mountainous region, the Mughal horses could not attain it. Rana Udai Singh founded this place and it was made the capital of the Mewars. During the Birtish Raj, it became a princely state and after the independence, Udaipur was integrated to the Rajasthan state.
